The Quora Pixel is a tool that is placed in your website code to track traffic and conversions. When someone clicks on your ad and lands on your website, the Quora Pixel allows you to identify how many people are visiting your website and what actions they are taking.
The Quora pixel consists of two parts: (1) the base pixel code and (2) the event code.
The Base Pixel should be installed in the header of every page on the advertiser’s website. Installing the Base Pixel enables the advertiser to leverage website audience building for Website Traffic Retargeting and Lookalike Targeting.
The Event Pixel tracks specific conversion events and should be installed on the page that indicates the conversion event has occurred. This is commonly a thank you or confirmation page (i.e. the confirmation page one sees after checking out). You can install the Event Pixel through Standard Conversions and Custom Conversions.
Do both the Base Pixel and Event Pixel need to be installed?
We strongly recommend that the advertiser install both. Certain features of the Quora Ads Manager will be unavailable without the pixel, and it is easier to optimize campaigns if you have the Base and Event pixels installed. In addition, you can:
- Track conversions and performance data (including Multi-event Conversions)
- Optimize for conversions (rather than clicks)
- Retarget web visitors via a Website Traffic Audience
- Create a Lookalike Audience
Overall, the Quora Pixel will help you drive insights that can optimize your performance and meet your goals.
