Quora has several safeguards in place to ensure your brand’s message is shown alongside the best content on the platform.
Platform controls
Community norms: We have strong community norms on Quora to ensure the highest quality standards. Our Platform Policies help suppress the efforts of bad actors on the site.
Profile name policy: Quora users can choose to use their real names or pseudonyms. Most people use their real names as this was required historically, but also because they are using the platform in a professional context. We do not permit any names that are explicit, adult-oriented, abusive, obscene, or impersonated.
Internal moderation processes:We have a combination of human moderation and industry-leading machine learning processes in place to ensure that policy violating content is quickly removed from Quora. To see what this covers, please refer to our Platform Policies.
Product mechanisms: Users can report policy-violating content on the site, which is promptly reviewed by our moderation team. Our in-product voting mechanisms also help to ensure that the best answers rank highly on question pages. This ranking system helps ensure that your ads appear next to the best content on Quora.
Prohibited content: We do not display ads on content that would classify as Prohibited Content. Quora Topics that are controversial or fall under Prohibited Content are not eligible for ads.
Contexts ineligible for ads: Questions on Quora that are controversial and/or that don’t adhere to our Advertising Policies standards are not eligible to be next to ads. We do not display ads adjacent to this type of content.
Comments on ads:Users cannot comment on Text and Image Ads. Businesses using Promoted Answers can choose to disable comments from their answers.
Third-party partners: Quora is partnered with DoubleVerify and IAS to allow for third-party monitoring of brand safety and suitability. Learn more about our Third-Party Pixel Tracking Partners.
Advertiser controls
In addition to Quora’s platform controls, advertisers have the ability to set different exclusions at the account and ad set levels of Quora Ads Manager for added safety and suitability measures.
Account-level keyword exclusions:Setting keyword exclusions at the account level will ensure none of your brand’s ads appear on content areas labeled with those keywords. Learn more about Account-level Keyword Exclusions.
Ad set-level exclusions:To provide additional flexibility within individual campaigns, we offer location, keyword, question, and audience exclusion targeting at the ad set level. (Note: Keywords can only be excluded from keyword-targeted ad sets.)
