Overview
We believe advertising on Quora should result in better experiences for people using the platform and positive results for our advertisers. As a result, we have high quality standards for ads and may reject ads that do not comply with our Advertising Policies. However, in all cases, you bear responsibility for reviewing and ensuring all your ads comply with our Advertising Policies, as well as ensuring that your ads are legally compliant. We have the right, but not the responsibility, to review ads for compliance with our Advertising Policies. We ask you to familiarize yourself with these policies carefully. These Advertising Policies govern all ads that run on the Quora platform.
Additionally, all ads must comply with Quora’s Terms of Service, Advertising Terms, and Platform Policies. Note that we reserve the right to reject or remove an ad for any reason, including but not limited to negative brand perception and/or user feedback.

Prohibited Business Practices (All Ad Types)
Intellectual Property Infringement
Ads (including landing pages) must not contain any content that infringes upon or violates the rights of any third party. This includes copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other personal or proprietary rights. Advertisers are responsible for proper trademark and copyright use in their ad text as well as landing pages. Quora reserves the right to remove ads in response to trademark and copyright owner complaints.
Use of the Quora Brand without Permission
Use of the Quora brand name or logo (or variations) without authorization is prohibited. Do not mention Quora in your ads without prior written approval from Quora.
Targeting Sensitive Attributes
We do not allow ads that assume or imply protected or sensitive user attributes. This includes, but is not limited to race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, age, medical condition, financial hardship, criminal record, sexual orientation, and political affiliation.
Note that it is acceptable for an ad to mention certain groups, as long as the ad does not contain content that directly or indirectly assumes a user is part of those groups.
Examples of violating content:
- “Do you have depression?”
- “Meet other Asian singles near you.”
- “In debt? Check out our services.”
- “Have you been convicted of a DUI?”
Examples of OK content:
- “Meet other yoga enthusiasts!”
- “We are a platform for seniors.”
- “Get financial advice here.”
Political Content
We do not allow ads that promote specific candidates, parties, political action committees, or views on political issues with the purpose of influencing an election outcome.
Specific Petitions
We do not allow the promotion of specific petitions for people to sign. This includes references to specific petitions in the ad copy, image, and landing pages that feature specific petitions.
Misrepresentation and Trust
All information presented in your ad must be relevant to the product or services you are offering and must not misrepresent what you are trying to promote. This applies to all components of your ad as well as your landing pages. We do not permit:
- Promotions that do not accurately and truthfully represent your company, your products, or your services.
- Promotions that prompt users to initiate a purchase, download, or other commitment without first providing all relevant information and obtaining the user's explicit consent.
Your ads are likely to be rejected if they:
- Promise a promotional offer and then make it difficult to locate on your landing page.
- Make misleading or exaggerated claims about your products and services.
- Make false statements about your identity or qualifications.
- Use claims that entice the user with an improbable result (even if this result is possible) and present it as likely.
- Falsely imply affiliation with, or endorsement by, another individual, organization, product, or service.
- Mislead or trick the user into interacting with them.
- Do not clearly explain their billing policy or value proposition.
- Hide or deliberately conceal or misstate information about your business, product, or services. This includes not disclosing your billing practices and terms of payment.
Your account may be suspended if:
- Your account information and ad information (ex. business name) do not match.
- Your website does not have a Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Evading Enforcement
Advertisers must not engage in behaviors that attempt to evade enforcement. This includes, but is not limited to disguising content within ads such as masking destination URLs to circumvent detection (i.e., link cloaking).
Ad Creative and Landing Page Policies

Adult content, including nudity and sexually explicit or suggestive content is not permitted in ads. Ad text should not contain sexually explicit language or sexual innuendo. Media, such as images and videos, should not depict nudity in any form, sexual acts, or contain sexual innuendo (this applies to media both in the ad creative as well as the landing page).
