Quora takes compliance with laws, including GDPR, seriously. With respect to GDPR, we have taken a number of steps to comply with obligations under the regulation, among them is the ability we have given users to opt-out of tracking by our Pixels and to opt out of targeted advertising. In addition, Quora relies on legitimate basis for collecting personal data, as further described in our Privacy Policy for EU users.
Does an advertiser need a Data Processor Agreement or EU Standard Contractual Clauses to sign up for Quora's ad services?
Because Quora's platform is built on machine learning, Quora is the controller of the data collected on our site relating to the ad services, and not a processor of personal data, with one limited exception. If you are going to be using the "list match audience" feature, which enables you to create a custom audience, then Quora will be the processor solely for the data you upload that we hash in order for you to use this feature. If you choose to activate list match audiences, then you will be provided our Data Processing Terms that incorporate an executed copy of the EU standard contractual clauses appropriate for this situation through the self serve ad platform.
